We usually reply within a few business days. It helps to include your app version (at the bottom of Settings), your phone model, and what you were doing when it happened. Please don’t send health details unless they’re needed to fix the problem.
How do I delete my account and data?
In PlateWay, go to Settings › Your data › Delete account. This removes your account and everything in it from our servers: plan, logs, photos, grocery lists, household and settings. It can’t be undone, so the app offers to export your data first.
Deleting the app from your phone doesn’t delete your account, and deleting your account doesn’t cancel a PlateWay Plus subscription. Cancel that separately.
Can’t open the app? Email us from the address on your account and we’ll delete it for you.
To remove just one photo, open the meal and tap Remove photo. The meal’s numbers stay.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Go to Settings › Your data › Export my data. You get one JSON file with your plan, logs, targets and settings, which you can save or share from the share sheet. Photos come as links that work for 24 hours.
How do I cancel or manage PlateWay Plus?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so you manage them in your iPhone settings:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top (your Apple Account).
- Tap Subscriptions, then PlateWay.
- Change your plan, or tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Plus stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. When it ends, nothing is deleted: you keep your logs and plans and carry on with the free version.
How do I restore purchases?
If you get a new iPhone or reinstall PlateWay, make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you subscribed with. Then open PlateWay, go to the PlateWay Plus screen and tap Restore purchases. Sign in to the same PlateWay account as before to get your logs and plans back.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments and refunds. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.
A calorie or nutrient estimate looks wrong. What do I do?
Estimates from photos and descriptions are made by AI, and they can be off, especially for portions, sauces and oils. Check them and fix anything that’s wrong: open the meal and change a food or its amount. PlateWay shows how sure it is, asks when it isn’t, and learns from your corrections. Nutrition values come from USDA FoodData Central.
Is PlateWay medical advice?
No. PlateWay is a nutrition and habits tool, not medical care. Targets are general estimates, not a prescription. If you have a health condition or take medication, talk with your doctor or dietitian. If you take a medication that changes appetite, such as a GLP-1, work with your prescriber.
How do medication reminders work?
They’re reminders only. They’re scheduled on your phone at the times you choose, so notifications need to be on for PlateWay in your iPhone settings. PlateWay never gives dosing advice or tells you to change a medication. Any food note, like “take with food”, is the one you wrote. Your medication names aren’t sent to AI or analytics.
Can I trust the allergen checks?
Treat them as a helpful first pass, not a guarantee. PlateWay checks recipes, plans and grocery lists against the allergens you enter, but labels and recipes change and AI can misread things. Always check labels, and ask when you eat out.
How do I turn off usage data?
Go to Settings › Your data and turn off Share usage data. Crash reports still send so we can fix problems, and they never include what you log. See the Privacy Policy, section 6.
I’m using PlateWay as a guest. Is my data safe?
A guest account lives with that sign-in on your phone. To keep your data if you lose your phone or reinstall, save your plan to an email, Apple or Google sign-in. Guest accounts that haven’t signed in for 365 days are deleted (Privacy Policy, section 7).
My sign-in link didn’t arrive
Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure the address is spelled right. Links work for one hour, so if it’s been longer, ask for a new one from the sign-in screen. Open the link on the same phone that has PlateWay.
Does PlateWay connect to Apple Health?
Not in this version. You enter sleep and other details yourself. A future version may offer Apple Health sync, and we’ll update our Privacy Policy before it does.
